Listen to What Our Pet Owners Have to Say About Us
We had two Dachshunds, Scooter and Susi when we came to this area. They were healthy little pets. However, shortly after Scooter was diagnosed with diabetes and had to be given insulin on a daily basis. One Friday, Scooter’s health took a turn for the worse. In an effort to improve her condition, our doctor took Scooter to her home to ensure she was well taken care of. Susie, our other dachshund had developed a tumor in her brain and eventually passed away in September 2006. Although, our two dear pets are gone, we feel fortunate to have met the doctors and staff at Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital. Without exception, all of them were very supportive and helpful in taking care of our pets. We are grateful for all the help they gave us in our hour of need.”

“I would highly recommend Tender Care Animal Hospital to anyone. Recently, my dog, Pixie, became very ill. I took her to Tender Care and they diagnosed her with pancreatitis. Since she was not improving after a few days in intensive care, the doctor recommended an ultrasound, which showed she had a 3 inch abscess in her pancreas. The doctor recommended I go to a specialist as this was a very difficult surgery with only a 50% chance of surviving. Unfortunately, I did not have the money to go to the specialists so the doctor at Tender Care offered to perform the surgery at half off since my only other option was to put Pixie to sleep. Fortunately, surgery went well and Pixie made a full recovery! There is no way Pixie would be alive today if it weren’t for the care I received at Tender Care. I will always be grateful.”

“After getting our bundle of joy named Skittles, we started taking her to Tender Care Animal Hospital. We love all of the doctors and staff…Everyone there makes the time to answer all of our many questions and concerns. The staff is very compassionate and understanding. They treat us like family. So, Skittles gets more than great care—she gets superb care.”

“We have been going to Tender Care Animal Hospital for many years. They are so compassionate. When Min had a kidney stone removed, our doctor called to see how she was doing. When she visits, we know she is being well taken care of and spoiled!”

“The doctors and staff have been taking care of my four legged kids since 1998. I prefer to drive the 30 miles from my home to Tender Care Animal Hospital, rather than going to any of the vet clinics close to my home. Nothing but the best for my kids!”
Lisa Kaliski – Florissant, MO
“When I called to make my appointment, Tender Care got me in the same day and I was told how long to expect for the appointment to last. I also liked how they took extra care of my dog on his first visit. I would highly recommend Tender Care Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a new vet!!”

“We were having our puppy treated at another veterinary clinic for 2 weeks for pneumonia and he was not improving. We were sure he was not going to survive! We took him to Tender Care Animal Hospital for a second opinion. After much reluctance on our part due to the poor prognosis from the other veterinary clinic, we agreed to have the doctors at Tender Care attempt treatment. Within 24 hours our puppy was greatly improved and after a few days of treatment he was 100% improved. We were elated, not to mention the gratitude of our boxer puppy.”

“I do not know what we would do without them (Tender Care Animal Hospital). They donate their time to treat hundreds of injured and sick dogs and cats every year that would otherwise have to be euthanized. I do not know of any other animal hospital that is as dedicated to saving homeless pets as they are. We tell everyone we know to take their pets there out of gratitude for everything they do to help the animals.”

“My dogs Earl and Lola always seem to be comfortable when we enter the building. It’s always very clean!!! They have things for my children to look at while we wait which is a huge plus! After Earl’s surgery I was given a very clear understanding of what I needed to do for him. All my questions were answered extremely well. I plan to bring my puppy Lola to have the same procedure done because I feel that she will be in GREAT hands! I am very thankful for a place that I can take my dogs to and know that they will be taken care of! That will also help me be the best Mom I can be to my puppies.”

“(The doctor) helped us get through a very difficult time with our then one year old Pomeranian. She had eaten the better part of an Advil (bottle) and was very sick. (The doctor) actually took her home with him for several days to administer medication and observation. That’s above and beyond. The entire staff is terrific! Front desk and technicians always treat us and our pet with courtesy, competence, and complete professionalism.”
Charles Dobbins – Chesterfield, MO
“Both the receptionist, Tanya and Nicole always seem to remember me and my dogs by name and always ask how we’re doing, they are always very friendly and smiling. Leroy is exceptional as usual, my dogs love him. My dog Blondie came from Purina Farms and doesn’t care for strangers , but she likes Leroy. He’s GREAT every time we come there. WE love, love, love Dr. Judy, what a wonderful addition to your staff. My daughter’s boyfriend now brings his dog there and he saw Dr. Judy and really liked her too! Thanks for treating me and my dogs so wonderful.”

“(The doctor) was at his absolute best with Maggie at the end of her life in April of this year. She had suddenly lost the ability to stand on her back legs, combined with some other symptoms that led him to the conclusion that it was a neurological problem – possibly a brain tumor, stroke, or something similar. He explained the treatment options: an MRI at a specialist’s clinic could reveal the source, although brain surgery on a 13-year-old dog would probably not be successful. He administered cortisone intravenously to reduce brain swelling, but there was no significant or sustained improvement. He even took her home with him over the weekend so he could keep an eye on her and she could enjoy some fresh air outside! When we made the final decision to euthanize her, he was extremely supportive and never made us feel we were making the wrong decision. We will never forget his kindness at that time.”
Susan Schuepfer – O’Fallon, MO
“The whole team at Tender Care Animal Hospital are exceptional people and I really enjoy bringing my doggies there for their appointments. Kudos to them all!”

“Four years ago I was very sick. Someone poured something called “acid” on me, and I suffered some very serious burns. I was picked up by the nice people at the shelter and they took me to Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, I did not have any insurance and when I checked my wallet, it was empty. To say the least, things were looking bleak. Then, I got the break I was hoping for. The kind doctors and staff at Tender Care Animal Hospital decided that a cat this handsome deserved a second chance. They donated their time and all the medicines I needed to nurse me back to health. I feel like a new cat today. The only wounds I have left are some scars, but I think that adds character and makes me look tough! Now, I live at Tender Care Animal Hospital.”

“If it wasn’t for Tender Care Animal Hospital, I wouldn’t be here today. I was brought to them by the local shelter after I had been hit by a car. I don’t remember much from the accident because I took a pretty big bump to the head. My jaw was broken, my eye injured, and the hair on the front of my body looked like it had been burned. Even though I was in pretty bad shape, the doctors at Tender Care Animal Hospital volunteered to fix me. My jaw was wired and medicine was put into my eye. Recovery was a very long and scary road. My mouth had very bad sores.. I think something burned me but I really can’t remember. It was hard to eat, I had to get a feeding tube because it was too hard to swallow. Everyone took turns feeding me and cuddling with me. When I was well enough, I no longer needed the feeding tube, but they still fed me by hand. It had been so long since I had eaten from a bowl that I had to learn how to all over again! There were times when everyone worried that I would not be able to recover, but the wonderful doctors and staff would not give up on me. Thanks to them I was able to make a miraculous recovery. I am blind in one eye and one side of my face is paralyzed causing me to drool a lot. Because I drool a lot, my fur isn’t nearly as sleek and smooth as it used to be. But I feel really good and can run and play like I used to. My favorite past times include cuddling in someone’s lap and playing hide and seek from the staff.
